Thank you, gentlemen and you are both real gentlemen. I couldn't agree more - please can we have less legislation which seems to be coming all the time but simple, clear laws which are then enforced. I think this should apply to every facet of life including electoral reform. I cannot abide emotive words in the law such as 'moral, 'hate' and illegitimate' as they mean something different to everyone and can a law that we all need to understand be based on double speak? Have a good evening and thank you, once again.
"How do you keep democracy safe?" ... In order to keep democracy safe you have to do more than just talk about it, you have to engage directly with it. Advocate for change. Start a political think tank. Start talking to people. Start engaging with your MP about issues and concerns. Too many people think that just ticking a box every five years is enough. Many people don't even do that much. I advocate for political "interference" at a local level on a regular basis.
another fact packed episode, thank you both lots! You opened my eyes as to what can be classed as electoral interference. I don’t know if I’m on my own having previously thought that electoral interference was kind of limited to campaigning for a party in one country whilst being an mp in another country (as with Labour) or physically tampering with paper ballots, or huge data/ballot dumps deposited at certain times (as in the case of the American election when the Democrats won 2020) or Russian/Chinese cyber attacks… the idea that Obama and Macron, or the EU in the case of Poland and Hungary, were interfering making statements, such as ‘there’s a special place in hell…’, or withholding loans, never occurred to me as I tend to treat these instances as hot air and bluster, but which I now know are still all of that, but are done so in an attempt to persuade other people to think the same way and not, for example, vote for a Trump character, or to be a threat in the case of Obama and the UK during BREXIT… I can feel the sinews of my tiny untrained legal brain growing just a touch 😜 one thing I can say is that it helps understand all the news on such matters a good deal more.

Hello Steven and Andrew,
another fact packed episode, thank you both lots! You opened my eyes as to what can be classed as electoral interference. I hope my rambling makes some sense.
Kind regards to everyone 👍
